BLADEcontrol® is the pioneer in rotor blade monitoring. The well-known condition monitoring system increases turbine availability, reduces downtimes, and ensures optimum efficiency. With broad knowledge and many years of experience in the wind power industry, we bring transparency to your plant to increase cost efficiency, revenue, and plant safety. In this way, you improve efficiency and reduce your risks in the long term.

Expert condition monitoring for onshore and offshore
Optimise turbine availability and make service calls plannable with BLADEcontrol®rotor blade monitoring, TwinCap®screw monitoring for blade bearings and BOLTcontrol bolt breakage detection system.
Join an offshore wind service technician in part 3 of our video trilogy and learn how BLADEcontrol® simplifies his job. You can find the entire trilogy in our YouTube playlist.
BLADEcontrol® supports you in detecting even the smallest damage to the rotor blade at an early stage - e.g. blade tip damage caused by lightning strikes, trailing edge cracks, web separation, or blade bearing damage. We can also calculate your retrun on investment for the BLADEcontrol® Condition Monitoring System in a personal session.
BLADEcontrol® now also offers the combined monitoring of the main bearing. Without any additional hardware, this extension enables the early detection of main bearing damage up to one year before critical damage results in turbine shutdown. By detecting both fatigue damage and wear, as well as the location of the damage, BLADEcontrol® helps to minimize downtime and optimize turbine performance.
BLADEcontrol® continuously records the condition of each rotor blade individually and perceives even minor changes. The risk of expensive repairs is reduced and the economic efficiency of the entire wind turbine increases.
Your advantages with BLADEcontrol® at a glance
"For an offshore turbine in the 12 MW class, the loss of revenue per day amounts to approx. 18.000 euros. In this case, the downtime could be reduced by 50 to 70 days due to preventive damage detection - compared to a potential blade loss."
Read our success story on six LEITWIND turbines of the type LTW80 1.65MW Typhoon on Guadeloupe that have been equipped with the BLADEcontrol® rotor blade monitoring system.
Due to simple assembly steps, BLADEcontrol® can be installed or optionally retrofitted onto existing wind turbines in no time at all. An installation-specific system adaptation can be performed easily and at any time based on the close, successful collaboration with Weidmüller.
Thanks to the permanent monitoring with the BLADEcontrol® Condition Monitoring System and based on the long-standing experience gained at roughly 200 of our offshore installations, we have already been able to enjoy multiple benefits from the measured data and data analysis, and have increased our system availability. We have enjoyed a trust-based partnership with the Dresden-based company since 2006, and we look forward to continuing our successful collaboration in the future
As an operator, we, wpd windmanager GmbH & Co. KG from Bremen, are responsible for about 2,000 wind turbines worldwide. Our most important tasks in the management of wind farms are the optimisation of plant operation and the reduction of downtime. By using the BLADEcontrol® ice detector, we ensure safe operation of our wind turbines - even in the cold season. When implementing the system, Weidmüller Monitoring Systems GmbH is a trustful and competent partner, who meets our demands and requests very individually and thus supports us to continue optimising our wind farms.
The BLADEcontrol® ice detection system saves a significant amount of working time and generates considerable cost reductions to VENSYS Energy AG and our customers. We got rid of many telephone calls and trips to the wind farms that were necessary when using conventional ice sensors on the nacelle roof. Just as the yield of the installations has increased, the safety of the turbines has also improved as a result of the direct measurement of ice build-up on the rotor blades. Weidmüller Monitoring Systems GmbH has also demonstrated its interest in other areas too, such as the research and development of potential new uses for the systems, and is a reliable partner for us. We will of course continue to build on this collaboration in the future.
In the second part of our video series, a wind park manager explains how the condition monitoring of the rotor blades with BLADEcontrol® simplifies his work. In this way, he can relax and focus on the big picture. You can find the entire video series in our YouTube playlist.
